Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom released in May 2023, and continued the previous entry's introduction of many new mechanics and lore elements. Among the features that are returning to the latest entry in the franchise are the shrines similar to the shrines within Zelda: Breath of the Wild along with characters like Impa and Sidon. The game also introduces the Sky Islands, floating islands above Hyrule that players can explore during the tutorial and beyond. One player took to Reddit and shared a trick that makes traveling to the Sky Islands a lot easier.

Reddit user Dry_Ad_406 shared the forty-nine-second clip which shows Link using his various new abilities to create a platform that launches Link high into the air above the Sky Islands. In the clip Link is seen throwing a spear attached to a board before freezing it, he then fuses the spear to another board, and then rewinds the spear. As a result the board Link's standing on is lifted upwards incredibly fast, sending him skyward. While the trick is confusing it showcases the depth of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's new abilities, which players can use to make a variety of mechanisms such as a catapult.
Commenters on Dry_Ad_406's post shared their thoughts regarding the trick, as well as tips for other convenient traversal methods that they've come across within Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. One player mentions that they've built an "airbike," similar to how another player recently built an attack drone.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the latest entry to the 37 year old Legend of Zelda franchise, but manages to introduce new elements that keep the iconic Nintendo series interesting. Throughout the game are various new locations that players can explore in interesting new ways thanks to the new abilities that Link now possesses, such as the Ultrahand. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom makes it clear that the longtime franchise is still finding new ways to innovate.
