A future Hall of Famer meets a would-be Hall of Famer.

Aaron Judge took time to greet Pete Rose before Saturday’s Yankees-Reds game at Great American Ballpark, which the Yankees would win 7-4 on their way to a sweep.

“When the Hit King is out here, I gotta put some hits out there; you know that,” the Yankees captain said to Rose, who was sitting in the front row.

“The GOAT,” Rose appeared to say as he looked toward the people he was sitting with.

Judge then put on a show for Rose, going 4-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs, boosting his average to .299.

Rose has been permanently banned from baseball since 1989 and ineligible for the Hall of Fame as a result of betting on baseball while the manager of the Reds.

That didn’t stop him from placing the first legal sports bet in the state of Ohio earlier this year, though.

Rose, 82, is Major League Baseball’s all-time hits leader with 4,256 hits and a .303 batting average during his 24-year career.

Last season, Judge made some history of his own, becoming the American League home run king with 62 long balls.
