Anthony Zaremski – the suspect in the Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies shooting in Clifton Park – had a lengthy criminal record, said Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo.

Zaremski was pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center on Tuesday morning.

NewsChannel 13 has learned Zaremski had a lengthy criminal history.

He was charged after shots were fired during a drug deal gone bad on Morris Road in Colonie on July 9, 2020.

NewsChannel 13 reported back in 2020 that Zaremski was charged with attempted murder.

However, we learned Tuesday he was never indicted on that charge, and instead, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in October 2021.

The agreement included a year of local jail time. He served eight months of that in the Albany County Jail, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office also provided NewsChannel 13 with a list of Zaremski’s stays at the Albany County Jail.

They show he was in and out on drug charges in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Sheriff’s office records show in the beginning of 2022, Zaremski was booked on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. He was bailed out a day later.
