Stevenson was cast on Ahsoka as Baylan Skoll, an ex-Jedi and Order 66 survivor who turns into a loyalist to Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). Before the series, Stevenson took part in the Star Wars universe as the voice of Mandalorian Gar Saxon on the animated shows Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. Though Stevenson passed away just three months shy of Ahsoka's debut on Disney+, the actor completed all his scenes in production in what will likely be one of his final acting performances.
Ray Stevenson's Acting Career
Since his film debut in 1998's The Theory of Flight, the Irish-born Stevenson worked primarily in U.K. television and theater. After appearing as Dagonet in the Clive Owen-led King Arthur in 2004, Stevenson's profile was raised when he starred as Titus Pullo on the HBO series Rome. The series ran for two seasons from 2005 to 2007, with Stevenson earning critical acclaim for his devil-may-care Roman soldier.

In 2008, Stevenson replaced Thomas Jane in Marvel's soft-reboot The Punisher: War Zone and later joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Warriors Three member Voltstagg in the first three installments of the Thor franchise. In between films, Stevenson landed high-profile roles in such films as Kill the Irishman, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, The Transporter: Refueled and the Divergent film franchise. His most recent film was the worldwide hit RRR, where he played the villainous Governor Scott Buxton. At the time of Stevenson's passing, the actor was in Italy filming Frank Ciota's Cassino in Ischia. It is unknown how the production will proceed without Stevenson. Additionally, Stevenson replaced Kevin Spacey in the medieval war drama 1242: Gateway to the West, which is currently in post-production.
Fans can see Ray Stevenson as Skoll when Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ in August.
