Here’s the story — of a house named Brady.

Fans of the iconic sitcom “The Brady Bunch” can now own a serious part of the show’s history. Television network HGTV has listed the fictional family’s instantly recognizable home for $5.5 million, according to a press release sent Wednesday by Warner Bros. Discovery, its parent company.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported news of the offering — a one-of-a-kind piece of 1970s nostalgia.

HGTV purchased the Studio City, California property — at 11222 Dilling St. — for $3.5 million in 2018. When the home listed that year, it marked the first time it went up for sale since 1973.

At that time, it asked $1.85 million. Also at that time, there was speculation the residence would be demolished and redeveloped — leading to a bidding war, whose interested parties included none other than Lance Bass.

But HGTV was the winning party and saved it from any potential wrecking-ball threat.

After buying it, the network sought to turn it into a replica of the set design from the show. HGTV splashed $1.9 million into renovations, with work including restoring the facade and gutting the interiors. Perhaps the biggest lift was adding a second story in order to recreate the series’ living room, kitchen, bedrooms and yard that were shot on a stage at Paramount Studios. That added 2,000 square feet to the footprint.

(As is typical in television and film production, home exteriors that appear on screen are genuine, but the interiors are recreated elsewhere.)

This renovation appeared in the 2019 event series “A Very Brady Renovation,” hosted by Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott, which also brought in the six Brady kids to make the effort become a reality. A ratings success, the show nabbed more than 28 million viewers during its four-week run.

The property was also used for other HGTV specials and other series, such as Trixie Mattel’s “Trixie Motel” on Discovery+.

The listing images show a floating staircase hovering over a midcentury modern-looking entry, a kitchen with wooden cabinets and period appliances — such as an avocado-green refrigerator — and the kids’ Jack-n-Jill bathroom.

HGTV will put a portion of sale proceeds to Turn Up! Fight Hunger, a partnership with No Kid Hungry. The network will also sell many of the home’s contents, such as the green floral living room couch.

The listing is managed by Danny Brown at Compass.
