Chicago Bears Projected To Have These Two Picks In 2024 Draft
The Chicago Bears have two 1st round picks in the 2024 draft next year. That comes courtesy of their blockbuster trade with the Carolina Panthers, netting them a 1st next year in addition to two other picks and wide receiver D.J. Moore. It will mark the first time since 2003 that the Bears have boasted two 1st rounders in the same draft. That obviously didn’t go well, as they ended up with Michael Haynes and Rex Grossman. GM Ryan Poles no doubt hopes to have better luck when his chance comes.
The obvious unknown is how high those picks will end up being. This won’t be determined for another few months until the regular season concludes next January. Once the Bears’ and Panthers’ regular season records are determined, it will put an official spot for those selections. Hopes are high among fans for Carolina to have a rough year. More losses mean a higher pick. ESPN conducted projections to see if they’ll get their wish. Based on their data, Chicago will end up with a pretty favorable situation.

The Bears (who are projected to have their own pick at No. 11) would be happy with this outcome.

Stroud and Will Anderson at #2 and #3 overall in the 2023 draft, the last time a team had utilized back-to-back 1st round picks was 2003 when Arizona took Bryant Johnson and Calvin Pace 17th and 18th overall. These projections suggest the Bears will have an even bigger opportunity next year with the 10th and 11th picks. Remember that those spots have produced names like DeMarcus Ware, J.J. Watt, Micah Parsons, Terrell Suggs, Patrick Mahomes, Dwight Freeney, Stephon Gilmore, and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
It would be a golden opportunity for the Chicago Bears to add not one but two legitimate difference-makers to their roster. Much of it comes down to what their needs will be. A safe assumption is that a pass rusher will be one of them. Poles wasn’t able to address the position much this year. An unfortunate side effect of having so many needs. Will quarterback be on the table? Justin Fields will determine that. Maybe they can find the three-technique or a long-term solution at center. So many options will be possible if this scenario plays out.
