Albany Empire owner Antonio Brown did not play in Saturday’s Albany Empire game after all, NewsChannel 13’s Rodger Wyland reports.

The reason is because paperwork for his physical did not come through on time.

Brown – who used to play for teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – had been vowing all week to play in the game. Attendance is expected to be double the average game because of that.

However, National Arena League Commissioner Chris Siegfried has said that since Brown’s an owner of a team, he can play without a physical. That did not happen.

NewsChannel 13’s Rodger Wyland and Tessa Bentulan are following this story. We will have updates on WNYT.com and our later newscasts.

Box office lady told me a huge amount of vouchers were handed out for this game — it’s almost very full in here.

And now we’re hearing AB won’t play 😳😳. pic.twitter.com/AjIN3SVo9F — Rachel Tiede (@RMTiede) May 27, 2023

HUGE crowd for tonight’s Albany Empire game. A woman at the box office says the game is almost sold out. Partly because AB’s team handed out a lot of vouchers @WNYT pic.twitter.com/vEJhV1kUre — Tessa Bentulan (@TessaBentulan) May 27, 2023

Antonio Brown is at the game but not suited up. @RodgerWyland trying to ask AB a question but he said give him some space and he’ll do an interview later. Rodger says he’s not leaving here without that interview. pic.twitter.com/F0nx2twISI — Tessa Bentulan (@TessaBentulan) May 27, 2023
