Disney begins purging shows, movies from Hulu, Disney+

A number of shows and movies are disappearing off Disney+ and Hulu as Disney undergoes “strategic changes” to its streaming platforms.
Disney Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy previewed the purge earlier in the month after a company earnings call. In the call, McCarthy said the company was “in the process of reviewing the content on our [direct-to-consumer] services to align with the strategic changes in our approach to content curation.” That review includes removing content from Disney+ and Hulu; Disney has been the majority shareholder in Hulu since 2019.
