Rumor: Sony Is Planning to Buy CD Projekt Red
Before you read further, we need to clear one thing up; these are only rumors. Things could change even if the person behind the recent information has been right about things in the past, such as the Bungie acquisition. With that out of the way, rumors are flying claiming Sony plans to buy CD Projekt Red. This might not be as big as the entire Activision Blizzard acquisition, but it is huge if you think about it. While Cyberpunk 2077 had a rough launch and stained the name of the developers, the company is still one of the best out there, and Sony owning them could be a huge boon.

If rumors are to be believed, Sony plans to buy CD Projekt Red, the studio behind The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077. While the latter had one of the worst launches in the history of games, which led to Sony delisting the game for a while, the Japanese company could acquire the developers. It is still uncertain if it’ll happen, but if it does, the future for both companies could be positive, especially for CD Projekt Red.

Sony has never kept its acquisition plans in the shadows, and if it plans to buy CD Projekt Red, we’ll know it soon. If that happens, the developers will have a great company to back them up in their upcoming projects. Any studio part of Sony has had a lot of support and usually launches great, high-quality titles. The acquisition makes sense, given how CD Projekt is working on several games. Both companies could make a lot of money, and the developers could use Sony’s support to optimize and develop better games. Yet, these are all rumors and speculations, so we’ll have to wait for official confirmation from the two companies. Whatever happens, we hope for great games so every player can enjoy them.
