The children of a Texas woman found dead inside a freezer at an Arby's restaurant are suing the company over alleged gross negligence, court documents filed in Harris County on Thursday, May 25, show. The family is seeking damages of more than $1 million. The 63-year-old woman was the general manager of a Houston location and serving as manager in a temporary role at an Arby's in New Iberia, Louisiana, since February.
Neuyet Le was discovered in the walk-in freezer by one of her sons on May 11 when he, as an employee of the restaurant, arrived at the store around 10 a.m. to perform opening duties, reports state. The lawsuit says Le, who had been dropped off earlier in the morning, got locked inside the freezer while performing opening duties and "beat her hands bloody trying to escape or get someone’s attention" before she "collapsed into a fetal position face down on the frozen floor."
