Masked muggers attack NJ postal worker second day on job: report
A pair of masked muggers violently attacked and robbed a New Jersey postal worker on just his second day on the job earlier this month.
The suspects had been following the mail carrier on May 13 while he dropped off letters and packages along his route through Millburn before they pounded on him and stole his postal keys, Milburn police told NorthJersey.com.
The postal worker ran from the duo across a front lawn before one of them forcibly shoved him — sending him sliding across a walkway onto a driveway, home surveillance video obtained by the local outlet shows.
The mailman picks himself up — while repeatedly shouting at his phone’s Siri to call 911 — and is grabbed my the pair of muggers who snatch his keys and take off, according to the footage.
The suspects were picked up by a waiting getaway car believed to be a silver Mercedes-Benz sedan, police said.

The victim told a 911 dispatcher that the pair stole his “arrow key” — a master key used by USPS employees to open apartment building mailboxes — and that he suspected they were up to no good.
“I had a feeling they were walking around earlier,” he said on the phone.
The resident whose surveillance camera captured the brazen daylight attack told NorthJersey.com he believes the assailants hid between a dumpster and a storage unit next door and then jumped out at the mail carrier.

“They were watching [him]. They knew exactly what he was doing,” the homeowner Lenny Weiland told NBC4. “As a matter of fact, the postal worker who was attacked, it was his second day on the job.”
He told NorthJersey.com that the suspects took great care in hiding their identities.
“The only part you could see was their hands,” he told the outlet. “They’re pretty concealed.”
