Kevin Maginnis reveals weight loss from McDonald's-only diet
He shed weight one Quarter Pounder at a time.
A Nashville grandfather who ate only McDonald’s for 100 days straight – breakfast, lunch and dinner – boasted about his massive weight loss on the final day of the unusual diet that began earlier this year.
Kevin Maginnis said he went from 238 pounds to 179.5 pounds – a whopping 58.5 pound difference — by sticking with the fast food joint’s fries and burgers. The 57-year-old man became a viral sensation when he began to document his journey to lose weight on Feb. 21.
“Hey, don’t be bitter while I’m eating my apple fritter and losing weight,” Maginnis said during an interview with NBC’s Today Show on Thursday — the final day of his diet.
He explained part of his secret to success was eating only half the provided food in each meal and sticking to water rather than soda.

He also didn’t consume alcohol or munch on snacks during the 100 days.
“Because I was eating so small, I was always hungry by the time the next meal rolled around,” Maginnis said, urging others to “stop vilifying the food” and focus on the portions.
“Are there better micronutrients or macronutrients for brain health? Absolutely. But when it comes to getting rid of obesity, reduce the size of the meals,” he said.

He claimed his blood work has also improved, noting his triglycerides are down 205 points and cholesterol 65 points lower.
“Can eating a quarter pounder with cheese improve my A1C?” he told Today hosts. “Looks like it can because I was pre-diabetic before, down into healthy ranges now.”
Maginnis has sent out endless videos on TikTok about the diet to keep himself accountable with the biggest motivator to drop the weight attributed to be healthy for this family.
The diet has become such a success that even his wife started her own only-McDonalds diet on day 40 of his 100 days, according to a Thursday interview he did with Fox News.
As of day 65, she has shed 18 pounds.
