1 injured in shooting at Columbus Kroger parking lot

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person has died after being shot at a Kroger parking lot in north Columbus Thursday night.
The Columbus Division of Police said the shooting happened at the store located at 1745 Morse Road around 10:15 p.m.
The victim, only described as a male, was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead just after 11 p.m., according to police.
Police told 10TV that an altercation between customers started inside the store and was carried out in the parking lot. It is not unknown how many customers were involved.
A security officer intervened in the altercation and an exchange of gunfire followed, with one person being struck at least once. Police did not say if other customers were injured in the shooting.
Detectives have taken several people to police headquarters for questioning. Police have not said if charges will be filed in connection to the shooting.
