Patriots linebacker hints at DeAndre Hopkins coming to New England
One New England Patriots player has made his feelings known regarding the possible addition of a star receiver.
DeAndre Hopkins' free agency has been anything but quiet, with many rumors circulating about where the receiver might end up. However there is no clear front-runner.
Hopkins recently posted on Instagram, but the photo didn't give much away. It was a black screen with three monkey emojis in a line, one of which is covering their eyes, while the other is covering their ears, and the last one is covering their mouth.
But, one Patriots linebacker is doing his best to recruit Hopkins to New England.
Mac Wilson Sr. commented on Hopkins post, simply saying, "See you soon."
Wilson Sr. has not shied away from trying to recruit the receiver, also taking to Twitter earlier in the month.
On Thursday it was reported that the Patriots have a better chance at signing Hopkins after the Buffalo Bills, who were said to have a high chance of adding the receiver, are no longer high on the list due to the limited salary cap space they have.
Yet, the Patriots have among the highest salary cap space with $13.06 million, which would fit with what Hopkins is looking for monetarily in a contract.
And with that, Hopkins is also said to have a strong chance at thriving in New England because he would be going to a place that wouldn't be completely reliant on him and would have a strong receiver room.
This combined with his recent Instagram post where he was watching Patriots' Super Bowl highlights continues to increase the rumors surrounding Hopkins joining New England.
So, now fans have to wait and see if Wilson Sr.'s efforts are enough to get Hopkins to the Patriots.
