LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide after a man was shot and killed on the 1100 block of Comstock Drive.

According to LVMPD Lt. Jason Johansson, officers were dispatched for a reported shooting at approximately 6:40 p.m. on April 26. An initial call to police indicated that the shooting victim was a male and the suspect was still on the scene.

Officers arrived and found a man in his 40s with a gunshot wound in a residence’s driveway. The suspect, a man in his 20s, was also present and he “indicated he was the person who shot him.”

The suspect was in possession of a firearm and officers took him into custody without incident. The LVMPD Homicide Section took over the investigation. Lt. Johansson said that there was “an altercation” between the victim and the suspect before the shooting.

“During that altercation, our suspect pulled out a firearm,” he said. “And shot our victim.”

He added that police believe the two were having “an ongoing argument about some type of transaction.”

“Somebody was supposed to sell somebody something,” the lieutenant added. He said that police intend to interview potential witnesses in the area and that they will look for any relevant security camera video footage. He said it is “still too early to tell” exactly what led to the shooting.

Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact the LVMPD Homicide Section by phone at 702-828-3521, or by email at homicide@lvmpd.com. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 702-385-5555, or on the internet at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
