Gamers who were already looking forward to the massive Xbox Games Showcase taking place on June 11 now have even more to be excited about following new promises made by Xbox Games Marketing Vice President, Aaron Greenberg. The new information comes as rumors continue to swirl about the potential reveal of a new Fable game at the Xbox Games Showcase.

Coming just weeks after competitor Sony unveiled a slate of upcoming games for its PlayStation consoles, Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase promises to reveal what the tech giant has in store for PC and Xbox gamers in the coming year. The Xbox Games Showcase had been a highlight of E3 for many gamers for years, but as the once-iconic expo continued to decline before its eventual demise, Microsoft made the move to delivering a standalone presentation to showcase its titles. This year’s Xbox Games Showcase will be screened in select theaters throughout the US in addition to being streamed online on June 11 at 10 am PT/1 pm ET, and will be followed by Bethesda’s latest Starfield Direct.

In a series of tweets shared by gaming website Resetera, Xbox Games Marketing Vice President Aaron Greenberg made several big promises about the upcoming showcase that are sure to excite Xbox fans. The most exciting revelation for many gamers is likely to be that none of the trailers for first-party games at the Xbox Games Showcase will be full CG trailers, with Greenberg stating that “Everything is either in-game footage, in-engine footage, or in-game footage with some cinematics.” Greenberg also promised transparency on Xbox’s part regarding what’s being shown off, noting that trailers will be labeled so that players know whether they’re seeing actual gameplay or not.

In what may come as disappointing news to some Xbox fans, another tweet from Greenberg indicated that players may have a long wait ahead of them before getting their hands on some titles being shown, as not all of them will be released within the next 12 months. This announcement isn’t entirely unexpected, though, as titles like Forza Motorsport and Hollow Knight Silksong that were shown off at last year’s showcase still have yet to be released. Responding to a question about whether gamers should temper their expectations ahead of the showcase, Greenberg stated that he had no intentions to temper anything and suggested players “just come in open minded & enjoy the ride.”

After Microsoft revealed last month that several games from the PlayStation Showcase are coming to Xbox, the pressure was on for Microsoft to counter with some top-tier titles of its own. Going by Greenberg’s statements, it sounds like the June 11 Xbox Games Showcase may be primed to do just that.
