Coachella Valley Firebirds suggest they’re no longer selling chocolate during Calder Cup Finals against Hershey
The Coachella Valley Firebirds are apparently going to the next level to show their disdain toward their 2023 Calder Cup Final opponent, the Hershey Bears.
In a tweet posted on Thursday, the team showed their mascot Fuego destroying candy at the team’s concession stands with the caption “no chocolate allowed.”
A steaming mad Fuego can be seen ripping open a bag of M&M’s onto the floor and punting a box of peanut M&M’s like he’s Pat McAfee in his NFL prime. At the end of the video, the chocolate is magically in a bowl and being melted into some kind of weird Mascot-created fondue.
That folks will send a message.
There are a few problems with the Firebirds’ logic here.
These chocolate products are made by Mars not Hershey
Taking a popular concession item off the menu will likely result in a loss of revenue
They are punishing their own children-aged fans for a social media bit
So basically, this is a self-own. Not a great start for the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Game One of the Calder Cup Finals begins tonight at 10 pm.
