Man shot, killed in Downtown St. Louis near Kiener Plaza
ST. LOUIS – An investigation is underway after a man was fatally shot in Downtown St. Louis near Kiener Plaza.
The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Market Street.
Police say the suspect initially shot a victim near a different part of Kiener Plaza before the victim tried to run away. The victim collapsed near the intersection of 7th Street and Market Street, then was shot again.
Police have not disclosed the age or identity of the victim. No suspect information is available at this time either.
SKYFox, powered by Bommarito Automotive Group, flew over the scene and spotted a large police presence with a perimeter set up around one area of Kiener Plaza Park. The scene remains very active as of 5 p.m. Thursday. SkyFOX also observed apparent damage from some nearby windows.
Homicide detectives with St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are handling the investigation. FOX 2 will update as more information becomes available.
