'Gladiator 2’ crew members sustain burns after stunt goes wrong
Six crew members on the Morocco set of Paramount Pictures’ “Gladiator 2” suffered burn injuries after a stunt went wrong Wednesday.
“While filming a planned stunt sequence on the set of the ‘Gladiator’ sequel, an accident occurred during which several crew members experienced non-life-threatening injuries,” a Paramount spokesperson told Variety on Friday.
The outlet reported that four of the six were in the hospital in stable condition as of Friday.
Two others were treated locally and discharged.
“The safety and full medical services teams on-site were able to act quickly so that those who were impacted immediately received necessary care. They are all in stable condition and continue to receive treatment,” Paramount’s statement continues.

“Gladiator” earned over $460 million at the worldwide box office upon its release in 2000.
Starring Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix, the film won five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor, for Crowe.
The sequel, directed by Ridley Scott, is set to hit theaters Nov. 22, 2024.
Crowe, 59, is not returning — and he has mixed feelings.
“I mean, look, the only thing that I really feel about it is slightly jealous, you know? Because I was a much younger man, obviously, and it was a huge experience in my life,” Crowe recently told Collider.
“It’s something that changed my life, really. It changed the way people regarded me and what I do for a living, and, you know, I’ve been very lucky to be involved in lots of big movies, but the legs on that film are incredible.”
