Wilmington Police: Fatal stabbing victim was victim in earlier Colwell Avenue shooting

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The Wilmington Department has arrested 35-year-old Terry Earl Hooper in connection to a homicide at 800 N 6th Street.

According to a WPD spokesperson, officers received a call around 6:43 p.m. about Daniel Webb-Sholar, 32, killed in a stabbing. Police said they believed the situation involved two people that knew each other.

Webb-Sholar has also been identified as the injured victim of the Colwell Avenue shooting that took place Friday afternoon.

“Units responded to that location shortly after 1:30 pm. Webb-Sholar had been sitting in his car when a suspect or suspects pulled up in a vehicle and shot at him causing a non-life-threatening injury. At this time, it is not known if Terry Earl Hooper had a role in the shooting incident,” WPD wrote in a press release.

During the investigation of the stabbing, detectives followed leads that resulted in the arrest of Hooper. He is currently charged with first-degree murder.

The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing on N. 6th Street. (WECT)

No other injuries were reported.
