Seiya Suzuki Sitting Again Today, Circumstances Foggy
A day after he was given a “breather” because he was dealing with “small things,” Seiya Suzuki is out of the lineup once again today.
So what’s wrong with Suzuki? Still completely unclear. Even Suzuki, via his interpreter, seems not to know exactly why he’s sitting, or he didn’t want to say.
Seiya Suzuki is out of the lineup. He said, via an interpreter, “I’m not too sure” what the issue is, but “it’s nothing serious.”
David Ross said Suzuki’s feeling “under the weather” with “some soreness in some areas.”

Not much clarity from Seiya Suzuki about whatever is ailing him. He didn’t want to disclose it.
Suzuki says it’s not serious and his goal is to be back in the Cubs lineup Tuesday.

All right then. That’s a weird one. Is he sick (aka “under the weather”)? Or is he sore? Is it both? Is it more? Good luck guessing.
Still doesn’t sound like an “injury,” but the Cubs are being so cagey about this one – as they often are – that it’s hard to feel confident about much of anything. Hopefully the Cubs can get by again today without Suzuki, and then he’s rested up fully by Tuesday.
