CMA Fest closes outdoor daytime stages due to severe weather
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — On Sunday afternoon, the final day of the 50th CMA Fest, the Country Music Association announced the outdoor daytime stages have been shut down because of severe weather.
The CMA originally posted about a temporary suspension for the outdoor stages shortly before 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, saying, “Calmly and safely seek shelter immediately.”
According to organizers the shelters are Music City Center and Garage, Bridgestone Arena, Hilton Hotel underground garage, 222 Garage, or the nearest businesses.
However, at 3:08 p.m., CMA said all outdoor daytime stages would not reopen since the National Weather Service (NWS) is tracking inclement weather.
Spectators are asked to await further instruction before heading to Nissan Stadium, where the gates will be delayed Sunday evening.
No additional details have been released about the remaining CMA Fest events, but organizers encourage attendees to check the CMA Connect App for updates.
