Jennifer Lawrence Has an Elegant Take on the Sheer Red-Carpet Trend
The see-through clothing trend has dominated the fashion set this season, so it’s perhaps unsurprising that the less-is-more mentality has also seeped into the wardrobes of A-listers. Exhibit A: Jennifer Lawrence’s latest red-carpet look.
Lawrence looked every bit a movie star at the London premiere of her new film, No Hard Feelings, where she strutted the carpet in an iteration of a black gown that first appeared in Dior’s fall/winter 2023 ready-to-wear collection. While the runway version was entirely sheer and featured a midi length, Lawrence wore a maxi version of the dress with black lining underneath the skirt. The bodice, however, maintained the original’s sheer element, exposing a coordinating black bandeau bra underneath. Glittering sequined embellishments adorned the entire piece, while a thin black belt cinched the waist.
She wore the dress with black leather opera gloves, classic black pumps, and an array of silver earring cuffs from Anita Ko and Ana Khouri. As for her glam, Lawrence sported a subtle smoky eye, black cat-eye liner, and a glossy berry lip. She topped the look off by pulling her hair up into a slicked-back high ponytail.

As a brand ambassador, Lawrence has long collaborated with the French fashion house to deliver some of her most unforgettable style moments.
For instance, while attending the 2023 Cannes Film Festival last month, she walked the iconic steps in a custom red-hot Dior gown and matching shawl that matched the red carpet. She paired the dress with sparkling Tiffany & Co. jewelry and (even more iconically) black flip-flops.
