Justin Jones Absolutely Trashed Packer Fans In Glorious Presser
There is one thing you can say about Justin Jones. When the guy joins a team culture, he goes in with both feet. That became obvious from the moment he donned a Chicago Bears jersey. One attitude he seems to have picked up over the past year is a glaring hatred for the Green Bay Packers. The veteran defensive tackle spoke with the media on Tuesday regarding veteran minicamps and the upcoming season. He didn’t even try to hide his newfound distaste for the Packers, admitting he wishes Aaron Rodgers was still in town. He’d hoped to send the Hall of Fame quarterback off into the sunset with a proper loss.
However, Jones saved his hottest quote for Green Bay fans. Most players will admit they don’t care for fans for rival teams. Some even say they get a perverse enjoyment out of the hatred. Jones went several steps further, outright calling Packer faithful some of the worst fans he’s encountered in his career. He wasn’t afraid to use colorful language along the way too.
Some people might be outraged by these comments. Just don’t expect any of them to be Bears fans. Everything the guy said is something they’ve thought about for many years.
Justin Jones is a breath of fresh air.
For too long, the Bears have employed players and coaches that have done everything they can to downplay the rivalry. It’s an important game, sure. However, it isn’t any more important than others on the schedule. Tell that to fans that have endured the humiliation of losing to the same team so many times for the past 30 years. These soft-spoken responses are old and tiresome. Even worse, they don’t work. It doesn’t matter if the Bears give them bulletin board material or not. They still get beat.
So you might as well make your true feelings crystal clear. Kudos to Justin Jones for doing that. He doesn’t like the Packers or their fans and wasn’t afraid to say so. If that gets Green Bay riled up, all the better. Jones doesn’t mind playing the villain. It’s an attitude that harkens back to the 1980s or 1960s teams. Eras when the Bears were the aggressors. They were the bullies, on and off the field. Packer fans aren’t going to change. So Jones decided to let it be known how little he thinks of them.
Opening day can’t get here quickly enough.
