Superman & Lois RENEWED... but new season will have a reduced 10 episodes amid budget cuts
Superman & Lois has been picked up for a fourth season at the CW, but budget cuts mean that fans might have to brace themselves for an altered show.
The program may reportedly have to scale back the number of series regulars, in a move Deadline suggests could impact the supporting players.
Further, the upcoming fourth season will have just 10 episodes, in contrast to the earlier seasons that had between 13 and 15.
Months of negotiations led up to the renewal of Superman & Lois, which is now poised to become the only DC series left at the channel.
Teen Wolf heartthrob Tyler Hoechlin and Grimm alum Bitsie Tulloch star as superhero Clark Kent and journalist Lois Lane, now a married couple with teenage sons.

The family drama in the Kent household unfolds against the backdrop of various supernatural crises that demand Superman's attention.
Tulloch celebrated the show's renewal on Twitter by noting that the news came on 'Superman Day,' a promotion that was launched a decade ago by DC Entertainment to plug the movie Man Of Steel starring Henry Cavill.
Although Superman & Lois has performed well at The CW, the fantasy elements have made the program expensive to produce.
The show currently employs 12 series regulars, and with cast options slated to run out this week, any potential cuts will have to be decided on soon.
Although Superman & Lois has survived the axe, it emerged this week that its fellow DC show Gotham Knights has been canceled.
Gotham Knights, which follows the exploits of Batman's adopted son after the superhero's death, lasted just one season on The CW.
News of its cancellation comes two weeks before the show broadcasts what will now be its series finale on June 27.
The cast includes Misha Collins, who became a small screen sex symbol during his long run as an angel on the CW show Supernatural.

Hoechlin recently told Comic Book Resources that Superman & Lois examines 'Clark and Superman from a new perspective' by making him a father.
'He's not finding himself anymore,' he explained. 'He's just trying to guide these kids to become who they are meant to be and figuring out the best way to do that.'
A couple of years ago he remarked to Men's Health: 'Someone asked me: "Why do we need Superman now?" Well, he does stand for hope.'
He added: 'And hope is not something that once we get it, we got it, we’re good and it’s done. It’s a constant. It needs to be refilled.'
