One of the four fugitives who staged the Mississippi jail break last weekend has now been captured in Texas.
Jerry Raynes, 51, was taken into custody in Spring Valley View, in Northwest Harris County on Thursday, according to Mississippi’s Hinds County Sheriff’s Office.
Two inmates – Casey Grayson, 24, Corey Harrison, 22 – are still on the run while Dylan Arrington, 22, died in a house fire following a police standoff on Wednesday.
The four inmates escaped from the troubled Raymond Detention Center on Sunday sparking a huge manhunt.
Arrington then allegedly shot and killed 61-year-old pastor Anthony Watts on Monday night after the victim pulled over to help him. Arrington then fled in Watts’ Dodge Ram before being tracked down to a home in Leake County on Wednesday morning where he opened fire on law enforcement, shooting an officer in the leg.
The house then went up in flames and Arrington died in the fire, the Hinds County sheriff said.
The wounded officer – Leake County Investigator Jerry Horn – was released from hospital on Thursday. He was welcomed home with a police motorcade.
