THEY DID IT!!! THE CHICAGO CUBS PULLED OFF A SWEEP OF A TEAM THAT ISN’T THE A’S! IT CAN BE DONE!
It’s ridiculous how tense I felt for that game. It was like I was watching game seven of a playoff series. That’s how badly I wanted the Cubs to finally pull off a sweep. This sweep. Whew. Unreal.
For the third straight game, the Cubs went down early to the Pirates. And for the third straight game, the bats just started putting things together, and a big inning was the turning point.
Big nights for Nico Hoerner, Ian Happ, and Christopher Morel. Yet another quality start from Marcus Stroman. Bullpen cruised. I am very happy right now.
