One Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Armor Piece is Crucial For Exploration
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's vast open world is full of danger, and exploring it is no easy task. A combination of large mountainous peaks and harsh weather conditions can make traversing the map an arduous task for Link. Thankfully, the game offers a plethora of ways to tackle these conditions. Link is able to cook up a variety of meals which will grant him temporary stat boosts such as a larger stamina meter or immunity to the temperatures. Alternatively, there are plenty of armor sets scattered around Hyrule which are specifically designed to aid Link's exploration. While some of them offer full, permanent immunity to freezing or burning temperatures, one, in particular, makes exploring much easier: the Zora Armor.

Exploration was the key component behind Breath of the Wild's success, and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is no different in this regard. While there are certainly more innovative mechanics layered in, such as the Ultrahand ability, Tears of the Kingdom's huge, detailed map is packed to the brim with things to discover. Upon starting the game, most players will be eager to quickly explore the world of Hyrule, but, even after obtaining the useful paraglider during the game's opening section, Link is not yet equipped to tackle some of the vast, unforgiving terrain scattered throughout the map.

The Zora Armor is Essential For Exploration
Climbing and gliding using the paraglider both cost stamina, and until players begin tackling some of the game's 152 shrine puzzles, Link's stamina gauge will be inadequate for large climbs or gliding across vast distances. Thanks to the game's innovative mechanics, more creative gamers will find other ways to reach higher altitudes, either using some of Link's other useful abilities or Tears of the Kingdom's new zonai devices, of which the possibilities feel almost endless. Those looking for more traditional methods of traversal should head straight for Zora's domain in the southeast of Hyrule, where they can get their hands on the Zora armor.
The Zora armor serves two key purposes. Firstly, it enhances Link's swimming ability, allowing him to move faster through the water. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, it allows Link to travel vertically up any waterfall. Given the fact that waterfalls are scattered all over Tears of the Kingdom's map, this proves to be a great way of reaching higher altitudes without the need for extra stamina. Obtaining the Zora armor is relatively straightforward too and can be done almost immediately after the game's tutorial section.
Upon reaching Zora's Domain, one of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's many returning locations, Link discovers that the armor has become damaged due to the dark magic spewing all over Hyrule. Lady Yona, Prince Sidon's fiancée, explains that she could repair the armor, but will need a rare Arowana fish in order to do so. Fortunately, these fish can be found near Mipha's Statue at the peak of Ploymus Mountain. Returning to Lady Yona with the Arowana fish results in her repairing the damaged armor, and gifting it to Link in order to aid him in his quest.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom continues to capture gamers' imaginations across the globe with its unparalleled sense of freedom, and players will still be searching Hyrule for undiscovered secrets long after the final credits roll. Despite the Nintendo Switch's aging technology when compared to current-gen consoles, Link has once again proved he can still more than hold his own against the opposition.
