CBR supports the hard work of creators and industry professionals to create movies fans all know and love, but it's important to remember the ongoing controversy with Ezra Miller. You can find CBR's continuing coverage of Miller here.

The following contains spoilers for The Flash, now playing in theaters.

When it comes to The Flash, fans have been wondering exactly how it'll reset the DC Universe for James Gunn and Peter Safran's vision. It's no secret they'll be charting the future, known as "Gods and Monsters," in the first chapter. It definitely seems like Ezra Miller's Barry Allen messing with the timestream is the perfect place to commence this journey.

And make no mistake: while the Scarlet Speedster undoes the mess and fixes the Multiverse, his shenanigans have consequences. While it doesn't fully clarify the new stories to come, it does loosely tease how the door is open for change. Interestingly, with The Flash having one post-credits scene, fans have been curious to know if this ties into the reboot that's been teased for so long.

The Flash's Post-Credits Has Barry and Aquaman Getting Hammered

After The Flash's credits roll, Barry's found drinking with none other than Jason Momoa's Aquaman. Barry tells his fellow Justice Leaguer about how he met Sasha Calle's Supergirl, as well as Michael Keaton's Batman. Basically, he fills him in on different worlds being alternate realities where some of them don't even exist.

But right when they make it to Barry's apartment, Arthur Curry falls into a puddle. He says it's cool -- water is his home -- while offering up a ring, so Barry can pawn it and get them more drinks. It's quite funny because Barry was explaining how his metabolism is so high that he doesn't get drunk, compared to Aquaman, who can't walk straight. Barry departs to go sell the relic, telling pedestrians his buddy will be alright as the scene ends.

The Flash's Post-Credits Will Frustrate Fans

It's nice seeing Barry and Arthur work together because they were close in Justice League. In addition, the drinking calls back to when Barry phased through his wall to get him and Iris some beers during a botched date early in The Flash. Lastly, it's great to see Aquaman alive because, in the altered universe, Tom Curry didn't have him, and as this film ends, Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne is replaced by George Clooney. Thus, Momoa fans would be glad he didn't get rewritten out of existence.

However, there's no clarity on what the future holds for Aquaman. With James Wan's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom due soon, it feels like a comical setup for that sequel. But fans are still in the dark if Momoa would be axed as Arthur, perhaps recast as Lobo, or totally cut down the line. Given Henry Cavill's out as Superman, it'd affirm a new era's coming. But by bringing Aquaman back and adding Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman into an earlier cameo, it feels like Shazam! Fury of the Gods, where Warner Bros. claims it's undoing the past, only to reuse characters and leave it vague who's in and who's out.

Arthur's brotherhood with Barry is fun, but maybe Barry chatting with Task Force X and other folks Gunn has confirmed for the new DCU slate would've made more sense. Ultimately, The Flash's nostalgia is nice, but with Blue Beetle said to mark the new beginning, a tease to that as well would have been an organic way to hint at what the DC films have in store.
