The Overwatch 2 community shares amazing artwork regularly, but a recent piece that focuses on the unnamed Support hero has garnered a ton of attention. This is because the Overwatch 2 art was reposted on Twitter by the game’s official European account, with a caption suggesting that the fan’s rendition could be quite accurate.

Despite not knowing the hero’s name, voice actor, or place in the wider Overwatch 2 lore, fans are already aware of quite a bit when it comes to hero 38. She will be a Support character, and based on the silhouette featured at the end of the Overwatch 2: Invasion trailer, she seems to wield some kind of sword and gun hybrid. Her kit places importance on the sun, with many also thinking she will be Peruvian.

Players will surely see a lot more of the hero before she debuts in Season 6, with an origin story trailer and a deep dive into both her abilities and Blizzard’s creation process being likely before the launch date. For now, though, all fans have is a talented fan’s artwork to go off of. Still, considering that the @OverwatchEU account reposted the piece created by @NotramIlopak alongside a cheeky eye emoji caption, the fan may have been on to something with their “quick, speculative concept” of the new Support hero.

The artist adds several glowing accents to the hero, with the earrings, head piece, and parts of her skin all leaning into the theme of light. The gunblade is also depicted clearly here, with the artist definitely leaning into the sword theory with their take on the character’s weapon. Alongside some long gray hair for this mysterious new Support, fans get a good look at the character’s cloak in the fan’s concept, which could allow her to fly or help her leap like she did in the trailer from the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase.

Based on this fan art and the very brief teaser from the Overwatch 2: Invasion trailer, this new Support character could shake things up in a big way. Assuming she is a fully flying character like Echo as opposed to one like Mercy where she has brief bursts, she could be a good counter to characters like Pharah and the aforementioned AI. A sword-gun hybrid would be a unique weapon, too, as more melee-focused characters would be welcome in Blizzard's hero shooter.

For now, all Overwatch 2 fans can do is wait for more info and a fully official image of the character. Though Overwatch 2 Season 5 is lacking playable content, the massive Season 6 additions like this new hero will hopefully be worth the wait.

Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
