Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition 16 GB GPU Reaches End of Life
Intel has surprisingly announced the discontinuation of its Arc A770 Limited Edition 16 GB graphics card which will reach the end of its life this month.
Intel Says Goodbye To Its First Limited Edition Arc Design, The A770 LE 16 GB Graphics Card
Intel released a Product Change Notification (PCN) for the Arc A770 on June 20th, saying it was the final day for orders and deliveries. PCN is usually released when the company tells its consumers about a potential End of Life of a product, giving them a chance to grab the product before it's gone.
The Intel Arc A770 GPU launched in two flavors, 8GB and 16GB VRAM. Intel's Limited Edition GPU was one of the fewer variants on the market to feature 16GB memory. But the company did state during the early days of its launch that since the reference design was a Limited Edition product, it will have fewer supplies than the AIB offerings.

However, before you get disappointed, one important thing to note is that this change is only limited to the Arc A770 Limited Edition GPUs manufactured by Intel itself. The Limited Edition variant, or, in simple words, the reference model, won't be available until further on. Intel will still distribute its silicon to board partners such as Acer, ASRock, Sparkle, GUNNIR, and the rest to keep on producing A770 in 16 GB and 8 GB designs.
Companies like Sparkle unveiled their new GPU lineup based on Intel Arc, adding to Intel's growing list of board partners. We recently showcased the company's lineup displayed at Computex 2023, which featured liquid-cooled Arc A770 and several low-profile designs. This portrays that the Arc lineup's future is bright and far from being discontinued.
The reason for this decision is yet to be discovered. However, it certainly won't affect the future of Intel's Arc lineup. This might reduce costs or allow board partners greater space to market their Arc GPU variants. We also anticipate that Intel's next-gen Battlemage is on track and ready for release by 2H 2024. With that said, the Intel Limited Edition or reference designs are most notably iconic with a beautiful shroud and a fully enclosed body. These cards will be remembered for being the first Arc products and we can't wait to see the next designs from the blue team in the future.
