Rey Skywalker Star Wars Movie Reportedly Gets Title, Shooting Date
The Rey Skywalker Star Wars movie reportedly has a title and shooting date.
The Star Wars Skywalker saga finished in 2019 with the ninth episode of the saga. The sequel trilogy began in 2015 with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, starring Daisy Ridley as Rey. It was recently announced that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy would direct a new movie featuring Rey as the lead character.
The movie has reportedly been titled Star Wars: New Jedi Order. The synopsis reads, “Set roughly 15 years after Rey’s victory over Palpatine and the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The sequel delves into Rey’s courageous endeavor to restore the Jedi Order, where she assumes the role of a mentor to two promising young students—a girl and a boy. As their training progresses, it becomes evident that the girl possesses extraordinary abilities, destined to emerge as the future leader.”
It will begin filming in April 2024.
When does the Rey Skywalker movie come out?
It is currently set to release on May 22, 2026.
The movie will be written by Steven Knight (Locke, Spencer) and directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel, 3 Bahadur).
