VIDEO: Woman Hides at Big Thunder Mountain to Avoid Arrest After Sneaking into Disneyland
A woman was arrested last week after sneaking into Disneyland Park and hiding around Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to avoid capture.
Hiding at Big Thunder Mountain
A TikTok posted by user @magicallymckenna captures police and security activity around Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disneyland. McKenna’s text on the video reads “POV: Lady who jumped the fence to get into the park tries to hide in Big Thunder and gets arrested” while the video caption reads “According to CM’s this is day two of this lady breaking in.”
Whether or not the woman did sneak in two days in a row has not been confirmed. The incident that led to her arrest was on June 17. At about 7:00 p.m., she jumped over an entrance turnstile without purchasing a ticket. She then attempted to hide on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the Anaheim Police Department (APD) confirmed.
“Officers assisted security and arrested the woman without incident on Big Thunder Mountain Trail,” an APD spokesperson said.
Disneyland is pressing charges. The woman has been charged with the misdemeanor of defrauding an innkeeper, according to SFGATE and KTLA News. As the case progresses, it will be handled by the Anaheim City Attorney’s Office. If convicted, the woman could serve up to six months in county jail and pay a fine of up to $1,000, plus the cost of a Disneyland ticket, which could be about $179.
Guest Incidents at Disney Parks
More and more guest incidents have been shared online in the past few years. The apparent increase in rule-breaking even led to Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort adding “courtesy” sections to their websites. The Walt Disney World message reads:
Be the magic you want to see in the world. You must always remember to treat others with respect, kindness and compassion. Those who can’t live up to this simple wish may be asked to leave Walt Disney World Resort.
At Disneyland Resort, a prohibited drone flew over Frontierland, a guest jumped onto a Lunar New Year cavalcade float, and another guest brought a sparkling firework into Disneyland for photos.
There have been several recent EPCOT incidents. A guest climbed into a planter with the Miss Piggy and Kermit topiaries, another shared a photo flashing her breasts in the park, multiple guests lounged in a France Pavilion fountain, a possibly inebriated person climbed out of her Gran Fiesta Tour boat to escape the ride, and yet another individual jumped out of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind during a temporary stop.
Even Tokyo Disneyland saw a guest removed after they laid down in the parade route.
