Rainy weekend in Metro Detroit with slight break midday Saturday: What to expect
Rain showers move back into the region late Saturday and into Sunday
4Warn Weather – Welcome to the weekend!
After a soggy Friday, rain showers continue this morning and will continue the majority of the weekend.
Early morning fog may be present and reduce visibilities in some areas.
Our first low pressure system will move out of the region this morning. This will provide a break in the rain for a good chunk of the day Saturday.
Temperatures won’t move much today due to cloud cover and more rain showers arriving this afternoon. We start the day in the upper 40s and lower 50s, and will reach the low to mid-60s for highs -- which is right about average for this time in April.
After the brief break, rain showers will return in the mid- or late afternoon Saturday and into the evening. Expect rain showers to stick around overnight, too.
Overnight lows will drop into the middle 40s.
More rain Sunday
A low pressure system will move into the area Saturday night into Sunday, and will stall out and continue to “spin” rain chances across the region from Sunday through Tuesday.
That system will bring colder-than-average air, too. So much so, that some in our northern counties may see a wintry mix with a few wet snowflakes on Monday or Tuesday.
Wet weather continues next week
Rain showers will continue on Monday and Tuesday next week. The winds will also pick up, so expect breezy conditions.
Highs will be in the upper 40s on Monday, and in the lower 50s on Tuesday.
The low pressure system will depart late Tuesday into Wednesday, allowing conditions to dry up some. We’ll have partly cloudy skies and sunshine on Wednesday, with highs reaching the upper 50s.
Then, another low pressure system and cold front will move into the region Thursday. These will bring more rain chances Thursday into Friday.
High temperatures will be around 60 degrees on Thursday, and in the 50s on Friday.
Video forecast
Rain on Saturday morning will dry out for a bit before returning Saturday afternoon and evening. We're tracking rain all throughout the rest of the weekend and throughout the rest of next week.
