The Panthers are one of many programs to contact Toussaint — who entered the transfer portal on Friday, just days after former Mountaineers head coach Bob Huggins announced his resignation from the job.
Toussaint, a 6-foot guard, averaged 9.4 points per game (in just 21.8 minutes per game) last season for the Mountaineers, his first with the program after beginning his collegiate career at Iowa. In the Backyard Brawl matchup at Pitt, he torched the Panthers for 18 points, leading the Mountaineers to a dominant 81-56 victory.
Zagoria reports that Toussaint has a long list of programs after him already, including Gonzaga, Kansas State, Oklahoma, St. John’s, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, Georgetown, and others.
Toussaint graduated from West Virginia earlier this year, so he will be immediately eligible as a graduate transfer. Pitt is currently looking to fill its final available scholarship for next season. Pitt’s backcourt currently includes freshmen Jaland Lowe and Carlton Carrington, redshirt freshman Dior Johnson, as well as Rhode Island transfer, junior Ishmael Leggett.
If he joined Pitt, he would serve as the third transfer to join the program, along with High Point junior forward Zack Austin and Leggett.
