Storm bringing high winds, hail to areas of Houston
The National Weather Service in League City on Friday issued a severe thunderstorm warnings for storms passing over Houston
A quickly developing thunderstorm threatened to bring hail and winds as strong as 60 mph, according to the weather service. The storm was moving southwest as it developed. Golf ball-sized hail was observed falling in the East End area of Houston.
At 8:25 p.m., the weather service issued a warning for west Houston, Jersey Village and Hunters Creek Village. The warning is in place until 9 p.m.
The weather service also received reports of hail, ranging from the size of a quarter to the size of a ping pong ball, landing in Fort Bend and Galena Park.
