Marcus Stroman Leaves the Game with the Athletic Trainer BUT Not Necessarily Serious
I have to set aside the egregiously bad Trey Mancini play for the moment so I can just stick to the facts on Marcus Stroman’s day and departure. The runs have accumulated on a serious of hits, not all well-struck, and the Mancini play was a fundamental part of that.
However, it seems clear Stroman wasn’t just pulled because of all the hits and runs. The trainer came out to look at his hand, and the camera showed them examining the end of his finger. It must’ve been a blister or nail or skin issue of some time, which is certainly not a good thing – especially today – but gives you less concern longer-term than an elbow or a shoulder would. Obviously.
We’ll have more when something official comes out. Hopefully it’s just a one-day situation where it kinda sucked for today, but the skin/nail/whatever heals by his next start.
