Electric Forest music festival in West Michigan evacuated
ROTHBURY, Mich. (WWJ) – Electric Forest, a music festival in West Michigan is being evacuated due to incoming bad weather.
The festival has been cut short due to severe weather, organizers announced on Twitter late Sunday afternoon.
Guests were told to exit the festival venue – Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, near Muskegon – for safety.
“Move to your vehicles in the Campgrounds, or protected areas outside of the venue. Stay tuned for updates,” the tweet said.

Thousands of people descended on Rothbury for a weekend full of music, lights and more. The last performers were scheduled to go on after midnight, according to the festival's website.
As of 4:20 p.m. Rothbury was under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. Metro Detroit is expected to see winds approaching 60 mph, possible tornadoes and hail later Sunday evening.
