Storms cause power outages around West Michigan
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Thousands of homes and businesses in West Michigan saw power outages Sunday, blamed on a line of severe thunderstorms that moved through the region.
As of around 6 p.m. Sunday, Consumers Energy reported about 25,000 customers statewide without service.
In West Michigan, Kent County saw the largest number of outages. Officials said the storm brought down power lines in Grand Rapids, Cannon Township, Bowne Township and Oakfield Township.

If you see a downed power line, stay away. Assume it’s energized, even if you don’t see it sparking. Call 911 and Consumers Energy.
