How hard can your Street Fighter 6 main hit while at their weakest? Here are crazy burnout combos from Desk for the whole cast
Street Fighter 6 is designed in such a way that there seems to virtually always be an option to turn the tables or get out of a sticky situation... unless your character is burned out.
When this happens you lose access to combo extending Drive Rush cancels and OD moves, your opponent gains additional offensive pressure, and you can be KO'd even while blocking. Burnout is obviously when your character is at their weakest, and so naturally Desk has made a combo video showing just how much damage he can dole out with everyone while they're in this weakened state.
A massive part of the combo potential in Street Fighter 6 is tied to the Drive Rush cancel, a maneuver in which your character cancels the ending animation of a move to not only link together moves that normally don't combo, but also extend the combo further beyond as Drive Rush cancelling enhances your following attack.
Many times OD versions of special attacks will grant additional hit stun and therefore give a character enough time to continue a combo where they otherwise couldn't (think double-hitting projectiles, for instance) but this goes off the table during burnout as well.
What does stick around (and what often proves to be the only remaining Hail Mary) is a character's ability to launch into Super attacks. Desk most definitely uses those here, sometimes stacking level 1 and level 2 Supers in the same sequences.
Just as we've all started getting used to what the fighters of SF6 are capable of, we see a somewhat new take on their potential.
Watching this very well may open your eyes to a fresh strategy or some unexplored territory with your main, though some of the combos are very particular in their set ups and wouldn't likely happen during a competitive match.
