A new report from the Daily Mail suggests that the Netflix action movie Back in Action starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx has suffered from a variety of issues, beyond just Foxx’s ongoing health issues.

What is the status of Back in Action?

Netflix’s planned film was set to see legendary actress Cameron Diaz come out of retirement to star in the movie alongside her friend, Foxx. However, according to the report, there was some “drama” behind the scenes of the project even before Foxx was forced to take a break from the film following undisclosed health issues.

According to the report, issues between Diaz and Foxx popped up during the filming of the project, with the pair reportedly getting into “heated arguments” while on set. On top of that, the Daily Mail also notes that there are “major setbacks in post-production” for the film, with the report mentioning that even Diaz isn’t sure what will happen next, nor is she keen on working on another film again, due to what the Daily Mail claims is the actress not liking the “drama” of Hollywood and preferring to be around her family and three-year-old daughter.

“Cameron has not signed on for another film and is not currently taking any new scripts,” an insider said to the Daily Mail. “Honestly, she is not sure what is going on with Back In Action and isn’t very proud of it, considering there was so much drama even before Jamie was hospitalized.”

As for Jamie Foxx, the report also mentions that earlier this year, the actor had “an absolute meltdown” while on set, leading to many people being fired from the project. Following his health issues, however, the film’s status has been at a standstill due to the uncertainty of Foxx’s condition. As of now, the actor continues to recover from his unspecified health issue, with his daughter noting last month that Foxx is now out of the hospital.

The upcoming project was set to be part of Foxx’s long-running partnership with Netflix after starring in 2020’s Project Power and 2022’s Day Shift. Besides Back in Action, he will also next be seen in the sci-fi comedy They Cloned Tyrone with John Boyega and Teyonah Parris.
