In the cabin, Liam recaps that Hope was kissing Thomas, “And I know that because I was there… and the Colosseum.” He rages, “And you made me see it!!” Liam says Steffy warned him, but he said she would never do that, “Not Hope! But that’s exactly what you did, isn’t it? How? How could you do that?!” he asks.

At the cliff house, Finn marvels at Liam seeing Hope pull Thomas in for a kiss, “I would have freaked out!” Steffy says Liam is devastated; she hasn’t seen him this broken-hearted and disillusioned in a long time. Finn can only imagine how Liam would react to seeing his wife kissing another man. Steffy flashes to Liam kissing her.

At Forrester, RJ hugs his dad in celebration of him being back with Brooke. Ridge tells RJ he’ll have to help him get his things out of Grandad’s house so he can move back in with him and his mom. RJ teases, “You’re not going to make me mow the lawn for my allowance, are you?” Thomas arrives and assures his dad he won’t give him a hard time about going back to Brooke, though he does feel bad for his mom. Ridge says he’ll never stop caring about Taylor. RJ wonders if their friendship can somehow come back from this. Ridge says, “Oh, I don’t think so. I think their rivalry is alive and well.”

In the design office, Brooke is flashing to reuniting with Ridge in Rome when Taylor walks in. “Welcome home. I heard Rome was everything you hoped it would be.” Brooke wonders what she wants her to say, “I’m sorry.” Taylor knows she’s not sorry about any of this, especially not being honest with her about what was going on with Ridge. Taylor thought their friendship was real. Brooke did too. Taylor wonders how when she continued to use Thomas’ history against him. As soon as she realized her daughter had feelings for him, she began manipulating again. They bicker over who broke the pact. Brooke insists nothing happened between her and Ridge, “You broke our pact, Taylor. You have nobody to blame but yourself.”

At the cliff house, Steffy assures Finn that nothing else happened between Hope and Thomas — it was just a kiss. Finn gawps, “Which is bad enough!” Steffy says, “Right, right.” She thinks they shouldn’t read too much into it. Finn guesses they’ll have to see how it plays out. “Let’s hope their marriage can survive what happened in Rome.”

In the cabin, Hope cries, “Liam, please…” He asks, “Liam what?” He screams, “After everything he’s done to us! After all the times he’s targeted you!” Liam had to watch. He had to watch her take his face in her hands. He had to watch her lean in. “You initiated. You made it happen. You wanted it and I have to live with it! I don’t get to purge that from my head!” Liam says he’s feeling a little sick, “Just give me a moment.”

In the design office, Brooke insists Taylor broke the pact. She worked overtime to push Hollis and Deacon on her and then went to Ridge to throw herself at him. Taylor says that was after she started putting all the pieces together and realized Brooke hadn’t been honest with her about a few things. She lied to her about what was building between her and Ridge! Taylor insists she didn’t have a calculated scheme to set her up with men, but Brooke doesn’t believe it. Taylor doesn’t care… this whole time Brooke’s just been playing her dusty old destiny card to get what she wants, “And that’s Ridge.”

In the cabin, Hope says, “Liam, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” He scoffs, “You’re sorry? You have no idea, do you?” He was so excited to surprise her, to see her, to take her on the Stella Maris for the weekend. “I don’t think you understand. You knew how I felt for months. You knew what it meant to me. You knew what it would do to me.” She blew him off and told him there was nothing to worry about, “I don’t know what to do now that I know I can’t trust you anymore. I don’t know what to say. Everything I knew to be true, everything I believed in, everything I thought you stood for…” He breaks down, “I don’t know who you are. But it’s not that. It’s not that.”

In the design office, Brooke tells Taylor she is way off base, “You were the one throwing yourself at Ridge and you invited yourself to Italy when you had no reason to be there.” Taylor argues it was a huge moment for Thomas. Brooke reminds her of all the dinners and movie nights they shared. Are they just enemies now? Taylor doesn’t want to be enemies. Brooke doesn’t want to either, “But here we are.” Taylor is tired of this, of the back and forth for years of them fighting over Ridge. Brooke agrees, “I don’t want to do this, Taylor.” Taylor says, “Okay. So, here we are. You are back with Ridge. Just be happy. Because I have a good life, I have a happy life. I have my kids and my grandkids, and I am going to continue to be happy.”

More: New love for Taylor?

At the cliff house, Finn takes a work call as Steffy recalls Liam kissing her in Rome and shakes her head.

In the cabin, Hope pleads with Liam not to give up on her or on their marriage, “It was just one kiss.” Liam replies, “That I know of. And it was with Thomas. How could that happen.” Hope sobs, “I don’t know. I just felt so much pressure and I got to Rome and felt like I could finally breathe.” Liam offers, “Or maybe Steffy’s been right all along and you have feelings for her brother.” Hope knows the kiss with Thomas isn’t logical. She shouldn’t have feelings for him, she doesn’t want to have feeling for him. “You asked me who I am and I don’t even know.” But she knows that he loves him, “It’s always been you,” she cries. “Please don’t leave me.” Liam grits, “How can that be true?” Hope says it’s true because she’s there in their home surrounded by their children’s toys. They can still have so much laughter and love. They don’t have to let one kiss derail that, “Please!” She knows she hurt him, “But you have also hurt me, and I’ve forgiven you.” All she’s asking is for that same chance to try and hold them together as a family, “Please, please, Liam. Can you forgive me?”
