Suspicious package found at Upstate grocery store
GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Mauldin Police Department said officers are investigating a suspicious package near an Upstate grocery store.
Officers said the package was found near Publix along West Butler Road around 9:30 a.m.
First responders responded to the scene and determined the package did look suspicious and called the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad to investigate.
Publix, Chipotle and Starbucks were evacuated and the parking lots were closed off during the investigation.
At roughly 12:45 p.m., the bomb squad completed their investigation and determined that there was no threat to the public, and the scene was cleared.
