Walmart in Santee closed due to police activity
SANTEE, Calif. — A Walmart in Santee has been closed down due to police activity inside the store, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Office.
Around 5 p.m., law enforcement responded to a report of an armed person inside the Walmart located at 170 Town Center Pwky.
No other details about the incident were immediately available, including what the suspect was armed with and if the suspect intended to rob the store.
As of 6:45 p.m., law enforcement is still on scene. SDSO told FOX 5 that deputies are currently interviewing a suspect, however, they have not confirmed whether a weapon was identified or if an arrest will be made in connection with the incident.
Pick-up services at the Walmart are still available to customers, SDSO said, but the public is not able to enter the store to shop. Authorities are asking the public to stay out of the area.
