S&P 500: Tesla Stock Leads Top Performers Monday

Tesla (TSLA), Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) and Zions Bancorp (ZION) were the top three S&P 500 index gainers on the stock market today.

The S&P 500 edged up 0.1% in a half-day market session ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

TSLA stock leapt 6.9% to 279.82, clearing a brief pause to hit a nine-month high. Tesla deliveries jumped to 466,140 in the second quarter, sprinting past Q1's record 422,875 and Q4's 405,278. That easily beat Q2 estimates of around 445,000, according to FactSet. Tesla stock is on IBD Leaderboard.

Tesla headlined a strong day for EV stocks.

FIS stock jumped 6% to 58, vaulting above its 50-day line. Fidelity National, a payment and processing giant, is still well below a long-sliding 200-day line. Shares rallied on a Financial Times report that two private-equity groups have emerged as potential buyers for its payments provider business, Worldpay Group.

ZION stock jumped 4.6% to 28.09, back above the 50-day line but well below the 200-day. Many regional banks were strong performers Monday.
