LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- It was red, white and boom across Southern California on the Fourth of July.
AIR7 HD was over the region Tuesday night as fireworks lit up the night sky while people celebrated the holiday.
Plus, there was new excitement surrounding several drone shows that took place across the area, including downtown Los Angeles and El Tráfico at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium.
Five hundred drones created 3D shapes and images to choreographed music. The drone shows drew mixed reviews from the crowd as many were expecting traditional fireworks, but organizers decided to be more environmentally friendly and limit the risk of fires.
Down by the coast, many celebrated the Fourth of July at The Queen Mary in Long Beach. It was the first holiday event since the iconic ship's grand reopening this year.
In Orange County, Dana Point did not disappoint with its fireworks show. The pyrotechnic display was set off from a barge off the coastline of Doheny State Beach.
There were also endless illegal fireworks shows captured by AIR7 HD as it moved across the Southland. Scenes of illegal fireworks shooting up into the sky played out across the region.
Authorities warn against setting off illegal fireworks.
