In the cabin, Hope flashes to Liam asking for a divorce, and looks around the room forlornly. RJ arrives and she explains she’s working from home today. RJ can tell she’s rattled and asks if Liam has texted her or anything. Hope cracks, “RJ, Liam is gone. He’s gone.” RJ takes her into his arms, “It’s okay, honey.” She gulps, “It’s my fault.”

At Spencer Publications, Liam flashes back to Hope kissing Thomas and then to him kissing Steffy afterward. He looks at a framed photo of him and Hope together and thinks. Wyatt comes in and wonders if he’s going to go home to his wife or not. “Hope loves you, you know that?” Liam says it didn’t seem like it when she was kissing Thomas. Wyatt agrees that the kiss was unthinkable, but is he willing to throw his family away? Liam maintains he’s not the one who threw it away. Wyatt urges him to fight… to go to Hope and try to find some sort of forgiveness.

At the cliff house, Steffy sighs as she recalls Liam kissing her in Rome. Finn comes in and nuzzles her neck. “You didn’t even hear me come into the room. What are you thinking about?” he asks. She was thinking about how lucky she is to have him and the kids. Finn feels it’s more likely she was thinking about Hope kissing her brother. Steffy asks, “How could she do something like that?”

In the office at Forrester, Ridge and Brooke canoodle. He tells her he’s sorry he got in so late last night. She felt him get into bed. He was surprised she was gone this morning. Brooke explains she had to help Hope take the kids to camp. They kiss, and then Ridge asks why she had to help Hope, “Where’s Liam? What’s going on?”

Brooke replies, “It’s Hope.” She’s concerned about her daughter’s marriage with Liam. Ridge asks, “Why?”

After Brooke’s explained, Ridge booms, “Hope and Thomas kissing in Rome! How does that happen?!” When he blames his son, Brooke explains that it wasn’t Thomas… it was Hope. Ridge asks again, “How does this happen?!” Brooke supposes her daughter got swept up in their success. Ridge grudgingly admits that’s happened to them in the past as well. Brooke feels it’s hard for someone to understand unless they’ve gone through that and experienced the euphoria. Ridge mutters about how Liam feels about Thomas. Brooke nods, “He walked out on Hope. He left.”

Thomas arrives at the cliff house, where Finn congratulates him on his success in Rome. Finn kisses Steffy goodbye and leaves for work. Thomas sits down with his sister and says he got her texts, “What’s up?” She intones, “I know what happened with you and Hope in Rome.” Thomas plays dumb until Steffy asks, “Did you swing by the Colosseum?”

In the cabin, Hope recaps to RJ that Thomas has been the worst for them. She doesn’t know why she did it. “It wasn’t real. That’s just a fantasy.” She thinks maybe she has just trapped herself with all of these expectations and standards and it’s like she’s built a gilded cage for herself of righteousness. Sometimes she finds herself wondering what it would be like to break free and not care what other people would think. Liam will never forgive her for this. She betrayed him with a man who did horrible things to their family. RJ states that she made one mistake. One. Once Liam realizes that he’ll walk through the door and everything will be okay.

At Spencer, Wyatt urges Liam to go to Hope and give her a chance to explain a little better, “Let her try to fix it.”

At the cabin, RJ urges Hope to stop beating herself up. Hope questions how she could have done what she did with a man Liam hates more than anyone. “I kissed Thomas,” she recaps. RJ assures her it’s all going to be okay.

At Forrester, Ridge assures Brooke that Liam and Hope will get back together. Brooke says Hope wishes it didn’t happen, but it did, “She made a mistake. God knows we’ve made a few.” Ridge teases that love has a way of helping people find their way back to each other. They embrace.

At the cliff house, Steffy tells Thomas she was floored by his designs, which were a reflection of him. He gives Hope credit, but Steffy points out that without him, her ideas wouldn’t be a reality. “She needs you,” she asserts. Thomas wonders where this is coming from. Steffy says she knows what happened. He worked hard to turn his life around but that didn’t matter to Hope, “No, it didn’t. I know she kissed you.”

At the cabin, Hope is pleased to see Liam walk in. She didn’t know if he would come home. Hope says the kids are already at camp and missed him this morning. Liam says he spent the night at his dad’s. Hope has had a lot of time to think about everything, about how she could act so recklessly, “It’s almost like I don’t recognize myself.” It’s not an excuse, he deserves more than excuses, but she’s not sure he’ll believe anything she says. “I love you. I love our family and the life that we share together is precious to me. I will do everything I can to earn your trust back.” She’s so sorry that she hurt him. She can see the pain in his eyes and can’t believe she put that there. Hope appeals, “We still love each other. I know you love me. I am so sorry I betrayed you with Thomas of all people, I’m just asking for a chance to repair the damage I’ve done.” She moves in closer and reaches for his face. He grimaces and tears up. She whispers, “Liam, you’re here now. You showed up. That’s what matters. Please, please, let me fix this. Please. Can you say that you can forgive me?” He studies her face and she whispers, “I love you.”
