Tracking weekend rain, storm chances in Metro Detroit: What to expect

We're expecting a drier, sunny Friday in Metro Detroit. There is a chance for some severe weather this weekend.

4Warn Weather – Friday has a cooler start with drier, less humid air.

Skies will be mostly sunny today. Humidity will be lower with highs around 80 degrees.

It will be a beautiful day to grab lunch or dinner on a patio.

Tonight’s sunset is at 9:12 p.m.

Clouds will increase overnight. Lows will be in the lower to mid-60s, so feel free to give the A/C a much-needed break.

Rain, storm chances Saturday

Chances for showers with isolated thunderstorms return on Saturday.

Showers are likely to pass through in the morning, with spotty chances in the afternoon. It certainly won’t be an all-day washout.

Saturday will be the coolest day of the weekend with highs in the upper 70s.

Sunday shapes up to be better with a mix of sun and clouds, and highs around 80 degrees.

More rain, warmer temps next week

Expect temperatures to rise back into the mid- to upper 80s early next week. Rain and storm chances will arrive midweek.

Nationally, severe thunderstorms are expected in the Plains. Thunderstorms and rain may produce flooding in the Plains to the Northeast and mid-Atlantic. Heat will produce dangerous conditions in the Southwest and Texas.
