Assassin's Creed Mirage May Be The First Game To Launch On The Infinity Platform

The latest entry in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed saga, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, may be the very first game to be released on the Infinity platform.

In its latest issue, Jeux Video, one of the most prominent video games magazines in France, has stated that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released on the Infinity launcher. This is in contrast to what Ubisoft had stated last year in September about Assassin’s Creed Red being the first game to launch on the platform.

For the uninitiated, Assassin’s Creed: Infinity is the title or codename for an upcoming game hub for the Assassin’s Creed series. It will be a live-service platform featuring a multiplayer component and a wide range of historical settings.

After the game’s conceptual title had been leaked on July 7, 2021, Ubisoft confirmed the project’s existence. CEO Yves Guillemot disclosed that Infinity will not be a free-to-play game during an earnings call in October, 2021. Marc-Alexis Côté revealed during the 2022 Assassin’s Creed Ubisoft Forward showcase that Infinity will not be a game. Rather, it will be a hub for all upcoming games in the series, serving as a starting point for players and facilitating multiplayer in the future. From the context of the in-game universe, Infinity will function as an Animus that players can control as they travel through the various eras.

Previously, it was revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will feature a Wanted system. During a recent interview, Assassin’s Creed Mirage creative director Stephane Boudon revealed that the game will feature a brand new Wanted system that will make the game more reactive to player actions.

Players can now be chased on foot inside the city if an anomaly is detected. As in the previous entries, you also have the ability to blend into the crowd, though the crowd in Assassin’s Creed Mirage can sometimes recognize you if you’ve previously been flagged as a wanted individual.
