Police looking to identify body discovered in Salt Lake City canal
SALT LAKE CITY — A body was located in a Salt Lake City canal Friday afternoon, although police say there is no indication of foul play in connection to the death.

County utility crews clearing debris found the body at about 1:15 p.m. in the canal near 2650 West 300 South. The Salt Lake City Fire Department’s Swift Water Rescue Team responded to the scene and were able to recover the body.
The Salt Lake City police homicide squad and crime lab collected evidence from the location and will work with the medical examiner's office to determine the age and identify, as well as the cause of death, of the person found.
